Data Privacy
Version 1.4 · Last update on December 6, 2024
We see the protection of your personal data as a matter of particular concern. Therefore, we only process your personal data on the basis of all applicable legal provisions (i.e. Austrian Data Protection Act, General Data Protection Regulation GDPR, Austrian Telecommunication Act TKG 2003). This data protection policy explains which data we collect and how we use it. Additionally, we describe how and for what purpose personal data is collected during your visit to our website.
1. Collection and Processing of Personal Data During Website Visits
1.1. Access Data
When users visit this website, our web server collects several “technical” data points stored as server log files. Specifically, the following data is logged:
- Visited website (this website)
- Date and time of access
- Volume of data transferred in bytes
- Referring website (URL)
- Type and version of the web browser used for access
- Operating system used by the accessing device
- IP address assigned to the user
We base the collection and storage of access data (server log files) on our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) in ensuring the functional security of the website and minimizing associated liability risks, as well as on our legal obligation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR) to guarantee adequate data security for your personal customer data. Typically, access data is not evaluated to draw conclusions about specific users. However, in the event of indications of misuse, illegal access, or operational disruptions, we reserve the right to analyze access data retrospectively for identification purposes and, if necessary, share it with state authorities.
Server log files are generally stored for up to 7 days and then deleted. If the data is needed to counter or pursue misuse or unlawful access, the storage period may be extended until resolution or the legal conclusion of any relevant proceedings.
1.2. Google Analytics
With your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; § 165 para. 3 TKG 2021), we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).
Google Analytics captures your user behavior through “events” (e.g., website interactions, clicks on links or ads, downloads, etc.) and processes your browser settings. On our behalf, Google uses this information to evaluate pseudonymous website usage and compile reports on website activities. These reports help us analyze the performance of our website.
Google Analytics uses cookies to enable website usage analysis. Data collected through cookies is typically transferred to and stored on Google’s servers in the United States. IP anonymization is enabled by default in Google Analytics 4. As a result, Google truncates your IP address within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transferring it to the U.S. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a U.S. server and truncated there. According to Google, the IP address transmitted by your browser is not combined with other data from Google.
Recipients of data:
- Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland
- Google LLC, Mountain View, CA, USA
- Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Data linked to cookies is automatically deleted after 14 months. Google Analytics cookies have a maximum lifespan of 2 years. Data is automatically deleted once the storage period expires.
You can revoke your consent at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences. Alternatively, you can prevent Google Analytics tracking by downloading and installing the browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

We will not pass on this data to third parties without your consent unless this is necessary to fulfill your request. We delete your data as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and there is no legal authorization or obligation to continue processing the data.
3. Orders in the online shop
You have the option of ordering products in our online shop. This data will not be passed on to third parties unless you have given your consent or the passing on of the data is necessary to fulfill the contract (e.g. delivery). We store your data as long as we have an ongoing contractual relationship with you or as long as we need it to process your order. In addition, we may be required to retain your data for documentation purposes. For example, due to the provisions of the Corporate Code (UGB) and the Federal Tax Code (BAO), we are obliged to retain accounting documents for 7 years.

The processing of this data is included in the consent given when registering for our newsletter. If you do not want this information to be collected, we ask that you do not subscribe to the newsletter.

Mailchimp’s data processing can take place in the USA. The data transfer is based on the EUUS Data Privacy Framework.
You can revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the end of each mailing or by sending us your revocation by email to the following address: hello@hmw-mobility.com. Revoking consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing until its revocation. Your data will be deleted immediately after your revocation, unless we are entitled or obliged to continue processing the data for other reasons.
5. Your data protection rights as a user
As a user, you have the right to request free information about which personal data about you is currently stored or being processed. If applicable, you can also exercise your right to data portability. To assert these rights, you can contact our contact details below.
